In 28 years of trading there are no market timers. none of the manny I have followed were correct on any consistence basis. Check timer track who follow hundreds of traders and services. you can't find one who is consistent over any long term period.

you either have a system that works for you or you don't. The ones who have working systems you never hear from or about.

Re: Sit-Out Power: The Secret of Champion Traders

Very useful post, thank you Michael.

Re: How Bad Do You Want to Be Successful?

Along those same lines, Bobby Knight said, "Everybody has the will to win. You seem to pay little mind to price to sales ratios, i.e. armh, sina, arun rvbd. Profitability also seems a second class citizen, as does cash and free cash flow. Your concepts are great, your writing terrific, and how can one not admire you for putting your stocks out there for public review. But at the end of the day its about making money.

Re: A Simple Qualitative Tool to Add to Your Investing Tool Kit

4/15 - that was eons ago. I suppose we'll see how far that goes once it ships. The fact that they have plans to make a 10 inch tablet if the 7 inch version sells well makes me think that they're aiming higher than the e-reader market. The Amazon of today has shown that they like to get their hands into as many pies as possible. They started as a bookstore, then moved on to become the largest internet retailer. After that, they got into e-readers, software platforms with the Kindle app (which is now on basically every app market), digital music, movie streaming with Amazon Prime, and cloud storage. Jeff Bezos even owns a rocket company! So far, I haven't seen any reason to think that mobile computing isn't next. Amazon is actually a very Apple-like company, in that they're constantly reinventing what it is they do, and that's dangerous.

Re: Does Amazon Have an iPad Killer Up Its Sleeve?

I don't think Amazon has the chops to turn it into a computing platform, and I don't think they even want to.
Again... its pretty much a vending machine.
